smell the roses hydration sprayIt’s back- the nourishing and uplifting Smell the Roses Hydration Spray from jane iredale!

This limited edition spray does wonders for your skin and also supports an incredible education and support organization, Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC). We are now in our eighth year of partnership with LBBC, whose mission is to connect people with trusted breast cancer information and a community of support.

Every year we have introduced a special product with 100% of profits from your purchase going to Living Beyond Breast Cancer. The Rise Above with Love campaign was created to honor the support network around women living with, and through, breast cancer.

Kevin Gianotto, associate director of marketing and partnerships at LBBC, explains how our donations impact LBBC and the women who rely on their services: “As a nonprofit organization, it would be impossible for us to provide people diagnosed with breast cancer access to free resources at the national level without the support of our corporate partner. That’s what makes our partnership with jane iredale so exciting. You provide a funding source necessary for us to develop and initiate programs and services and a platform to introduce the services, as well. It really is full-circle.”

The donations from your purchase of our Breast Cancer Awareness products have helped over 10,000 individuals through community meetings, webinars, online content delivery and national conferences. It has allowed those affected to have resources such as a toll-free helpline, receive a distributed guide to Understanding Breast Cancer and online services at lbbc.org.

Smell the Roses Hydration Spray is refreshing and uplifting. Like all of our Hydration Sprays, Smell the Roses has been awarded ECOCERT’s Natural and Organic certification. The organic Rose Damascena Flower Water is an excellent skin tonic and cleanses the skin without disturbing its natural protective shield while the Rose Damascena Flower Oil and Extracts penetrate into deep layers of the skin. They nourish, tighten, cleanse, detoxify, increase blood circulation, calm and support the skin’s functions. Smell the Roses is recommended for any skin type, especially dry and sensitive skin. It calms inflammation and reduces redness. The scent helps you de-stress and provides you with an overall feeling of well-being.

Both pampering and charitable, you will feel good purchasing this for yourself or a loved one.

The Skincare Benefits of Roses

by
Let’s talk about the ever-beautiful rose. It’s used in almost as many ingredient formulations as it has petals. From extracts to waxes, if you look at our Ingredient Library, you’ll see over five different types of rose ingredients. That’s because roses aren’t just beautiful, they have serious skincare benefits.

How do I Know if Roses are Used?

First, let’s talk about how to identify a rose flower ingredient. Sometimes you’ll see the word “rose” in parenthesis, but usually, a botanical ingredient is identified by its genus and species (high school biology strikes again). The genus for roses is Rosa, and the species varies by the type of rose. In our products, you’ll typically see Rosa Alba, Rosa Canina, or Rosa Damascena listed.

Roses & Skincare Benefits

Every rose ingredient that we use has a slightly different skincare benefit. Water and extracts obtained from the petals and flowers of various rose species are used for antioxidant, anti-irritant, and skin-conditioning. Rose oils and waxes have moisturizing benefits. Not to mention, any product that contains a rose ingredient has a delightful scent.

Rosehip Fruit Extract

BeautyPrep Face TonerThe rosehip fruit extract used in our BeautyPrep Face Toner and BeautyPrep Face Moisturizer is grown from organic farming. Rosehip fruit extract helps hydrate your skin, protect from trans-epidermal water loss, brighten your skin, and much more. Active-Light Uner-Eye Concealer also contains rosehip fruit extract.

Rose Stem Cell Extract

BeautyPrep Face MoisturizerThe version of “rose stem cell extract” we use in BeautyPrep Face Moisturizer contains four different organic, rose stem cell extracts:

  • White Rose supports natural cell regeneration and the skin barrier. It also helps to restore the appearance of suppleness to your skin.
  • Damask Rose helps to tighten pores, purify and smooth your skin.
  • Rosa Canina (Rosehips) calms and brightens skin and helps prevent trans-epidermal water-loss.
  • Pale Rose helps to rebuild the moisture barrier and provide skin suppleness for the appearance of newer, softer skin.

Rose Flower Oil

HandDrink Hand CreamHandDrink Hand Cream includes rose flower oil to hydrate and soothe your skin. It calms, nourishes and conditions, just what you want to have in a hand cream. Not only does the oil lend a beautiful, soft fragrance to the cream, it also protects your skin against water loss during the cold, dry winter.

Rose Flower Wax

Forever Pink Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain, Pink Lipstick, Pink LipstainWhat is rose flower wax? Well, it’s just what it sounds like, a wax created from the Damask Rose. It’s antioxidant-rich, helping to fight free radical damage and found in our Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stains (as if you didn’t already love your Forever Pink). Rose flower wax also protects, conditions and soothes your lips, while giving the formula a light, luxurious scent.
