The weather is finally warming up and it’s time to let those legs and feet out for their day in the sun!

The obvious place to start is with a lovely manicure and pedicure. Whether you go to your favorite salon or DIY at home, colors this summer are fun and unexpected: deep nautical blue, bright orange, teal and bronze are just a few of my favorites. Our friends at Harper’s Bazaar have a full roundup of the summer polish trends. But that’s just a start. Nail polish looks best set off against great skin. For hands, frequent moisturizing is a must, and SPF is critical for keeping your skin smooth and radiant. All of our foundations (except Liquid Minerals) have SPF and are endorsed by the Skin Cancer Foundation. Try smoothing or dusting some on the backs of your hands once you finish applying to your face. Next, be sure to keep some Powder-Me SPF Dry Sunscreen in your purse or car to apply to hands and arms when out or driving. It is amazing how much sun gets through the window. I discovered this once when I noticed a deeply tanned left arm. Yikes! If you like the way tan hands look with your summery nail polish, moisturize like crazy and apply Tantasia Self Tanner & Bronzer to the backs of hands (see below, because it is a must for legs too!).

How To Tighten Skin On Legs At Home

Loose, sagging skin of your legs is unsightly but is there any way to reduce it? This “How To Tighten Skin On Legs” guide will help you!

1. Exercise Regularly

The benefits of exercising are innumerable. No matter what the reason behind your loose and saggy leg skin is, exercising and specifically weight training will help you remedy that. As the skin loses its elasticity due to weight loss, the skin does not shrink back again as it has lost its elasticity. Weight training helps to build muscles and replaces the space left by fat loss and in result the turns the skin tight. If you have any medical issues, consult a doctor before committing to any workout program.

2. Losing Weight

Again this point is correlated to exercising as you won’t lose weight until you exercise. The accumulated fat under the skin makes it look saggy, loose and wrinkled. To lose fat focus more on cardio as it helps in the fat burning process. Taking proper diet is also important as it’ll help you in your weight loss journey. So, avoid eating processed and oily food and increase the portion of protein in your meal.

3. Use Skin Firming Creams

Commonly skin firming creams are used for face but the same skin firming effect is also observed when you apply it on the leg. Using a firming cream that contains retinoids will also have a positive effect on skin tightening in the long run. The free radicals in the skin are fought by retinoid and thus aids in collagen production.

Collagen is essential for maintaining the elasticity of the skin and improving skin texture. Also, the usage of such firming creams moisturizes the skin, which makes the wrinkles less noticeable. Another topical remedy for loose skin is grapeseed oil, which improves the elasticity of the skin and tightens it.

4. Massage Your Legs

Serving the therapeutic process, massage has been around for centuries and its benefits for both mental and physical health cannot be denied. The improved blood circulation, relief in stress, and increased immunity are some of the potential benefits of massage. These factors if not directly, indirectly improve skin health and have an anti-aging effect. Furthermore, this study claims that the positive effect of anti-aging creams was enhanced when skin massage was incorporated with it.

5. Intaking Supplements

Before telling you about supplementation, you should understand that it’s not a magic pill. All supplements do is help you to achieve skin tightening results faster when used in conjugation with exercise and a good diet. Some of the supplements which we suggest are collagen hydrolysate, vitamin C, and gelatin. Supplementing your diet with protein supplements will also help if the loose skin was the result of weight loss.

6. Non-surgical Procedures

Various nonsurgical cosmetic procedures will help you achieve desired results without going under the knife. The most popular among these are Radiofrequency treatments, Chemical peels, Neuromodulators, IPL or RF combination treatments, Ultrasound skin tightening, and Ablative laser resurfacing. All these methods require skilled supervision and trying them on your own might do more harm than good. Although for radiofrequency there are some products that are safe for use on your own as long as you follow the instructions correctly.
