Natural products can make a big difference in your overall well-being. If you have sensitive skin or you are just trying to make sure that you are not being exposed to chemicals unnecessarily, your hand soap is a good place to make a change. Organic products almost always smell better than non-natural products, and they are much better for your skin health.

If you are not sure what kind of soap to buy when shopping organic, you are not alone! Many people are not sure about the ingredients that they need to look for when they are choosing an organic or natural hand soap. If you want to be sure that you are getting the right-hand soap for your needs, you should be certain about the ingredients that are common in these kinds of products.

In our opinion, the best natural hand soap currently on the market is the Meyer Lemon Everyone Hand Soap.

Ingredients in Natural Hand Soap

These ingredients are common to lots of natural skincare products. You should always look to see if these ingredients are on the bottle of soap that you are thinking of buying so that you can be sure the product is organic in nature.

  • Essential oils
  • Peppermint
  • Natural fats and oils
  • Coconut oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, and hemp oil
  • Lemon
  • Comfrey
  • Grapefruit

Not all of the products on the market will have every one of these items in the list of ingredients, but these are all common inclusions. You will want to avoid any product that has ingredients in it that you do not recognize or that are clearly chemical in nature. Some companies will pretend that they are making natural products, but the ingredients list tells another story.

Soaps that are made in the traditional way by many brands foam up quite a lot due to chemical inclusions, and your natural hand soap will be unlikely to be as foamy. This is because people mistakenly associate foaming with cleaning. Most of the foaming actions of soap brands are unnecessary and are only a factor in the use of the product to make consumers believe that the product works better than it does.

Always make sure that you are looking for a product that is only infused with natural fragrances as well. The fragrances in many supposedly natural brands are not from natural sources, which makes them harsh to the skin and not truly organic or natural in nature. Chemical fragrances can be very unhealthy for your skin as well as very irritating to tissues which is why they should be avoided.

Best Natural Hand Soap Brands

These brands are not the only ones to choose from for your natural hand soap needs, but they are a good place to start your search. Working with companies that are concerned with creating organic and health products also often means working with companies that value sustainability. There is nothing like being able to care for your health and the environment at the same time!

Making the switch to healthier home products can be a game changer, and your skin will thank you for taking care of it in this much better way. You can help everyone in your family be healthier by making the change to natural hand soap, and you will appreciate the improved performance of these products as compared to traditional soap options.

Whipped Peppermint Cream Hand Scrub!

Sugar Scrub The cold months are always hard on my skin. I tend to get really dry and in desperate need of moisture! I LOVE a festive smelling hand scrub. I keep one next to my sink throughout the year and will use it a few times each week to keep my hands extra soft and smelling delicious.

Today I have an amazing sugar hand scrub for you…it smells divine! Bonus, this DIY is incredibly easy and takes no time. The perfect gift to whip up for your friends! See what I did there?! 😉

Sugar ScrubSupplies:
–coconut oil
-red food dye
-moisturizing oil (I used argan oil)
–peppermint essential oil
–vanilla essential oil
–small jars
–mini spoons

Sugar Scrub Step One: Pour 1/4 cup of sugar into a small bowl. Add one drop of red food dye and mix to create a red/pink look to your sugar. Set aside.

Step Two: Using a hand mixer or a mixing bowl, add one cup of coconut oil and 3/4 cup of sugar. Make sure your coconut oil isn’t too melted before using, you’ll want it to be firm. Turn on your mixer and whip until stiff peaks form.

Step Three: Add in 1 tablespoon of oil, you can use argan, vitamin E…whichever you prefer. This helps make it extra moisturizing. Also add in your essential oils at this point. I added 10 drops of peppermint and 3 drops of vanilla. Blend everything together.

Sugar Scrub Sugar Scrub Step Four: After everything is whipped up, slowly fold in your pink sugar.

Step Five: Scoop your hand scrub into small jars. This amount filled an 8oz jar to the brim with a little extra left over. I suggest using 2oz or 4oz jars to give out to your friends! Warning, you might want to eat it! I love that it has a delightful peppermint and coconut scent to it…so yummy!

Sugar Scrub Sugar Scrub Add a beautiful ribbon and a pretty porcelain spoon to make it extra fancy and ready for gift giving. Since there aren’t any preservatives in our hand scrub, it will only last about 6 months. Using the spoon to scoop out the scrub will help keep it sanitary!

Enjoy and keep warm! Lots of love, Sav.
