Is there such a thing as a skincare routine for busy moms?

If there’s one thing moms want, it’s more time. Unfortunately, they often feel they don’t have it to spend on themselves.

And that includes time to take care of their skin.

We wanted to help. Below are our tips for speeding up your skincare routine so you can still take care of your skin while managing your busy schedule.

Skincare Routine for Busy Moms #1. Choose Products that Can Multitask

You are the queen of multitasking. You can hum a baby to sleep while writing an email, cook up dinner while helping your son with his homework, and finish a work report during a swimming lesson.

If only you had skincare products as versatile as you are!

Your moisturizer should not only moisturize, but protect, reduce inflammation, and help rebuild your skin barrier. Your toner should double as a midday hydrating spritz. And your repairing ointment should work equally well as a lip balm.

At CV Skinlabs, we have a very limited product line: only four products at the time of this writing. We did that on purpose. We wanted our products to serve many uses so that you wouldn’t have to stack your bathroom cabinets with multiple products that cost you money but don’t give you results.

Use it as your daily moisturizer for your face, neck, and hands; to soothe scalp itch; treat redness and eczema flare-ups; as a makeup primer; and for a restorative mask.

Body Repair Lotion

Apply it all over as a body moisturizer, use it to calm sunburn and hives, rub in daily to help reduce stretch marks, apply it to elbows and knees, use it to soften heels, apply after shaving to soothe and calm, and grab it for that healthy sheen when you wear your warm-weather fashions.

Restorative Skin Balm

Apply it to bug bites, scratches and scrapes, chapped lips and hands, dry cuticles, red and inflamed areas, and any area that needs a little extra attention.

Check your products and see if they are doing more than one duty for you. If not, consider trading them out for products that will. Skipping a step in the morning, for instance, can be a great timesaver!

Keep in mind that you can also use multitasking makeup. Try sticks that work as both blushes and lip colors, or foundations with moisturizer or primer built-in. Use makeup palettes that have your eyeshadow, lip color, blush, and bronzer all in one place. Dip a Q-tip in your foundation and use it as a concealer. Voila, you’re done!

#2. Use Less Makeup

Though you may need to do a full makeup routine on certain days, there are probably others where you could significantly cut back. Look at your calendar and determine when you might do fine with just a tinted moisturizer, mascara, and a brow tint. Apply your lip gloss on the way out the door.

Then consider what days you may be able to go completely makeup-free. If you’re taking good care of your skin, it will help you feel confident doing this more often!

Beauty OrganizerSkincare Routine for Busy Moms #3. Get Organized

Searching through cabinets and drawers for your products steals away your time. You know it’s in there somewhere!

Streamline your morning and nighttime routines by taking some time to get organized. You may want a beauty organizer that can store some of your products.

Clean out a shelf or two in your cabinet so your products are more accessible. Or install a few extra shelves in the bathroom.

Take a second look at where you usually perform your skincare and makeup routines with an organizer’s eye. What could be improved? What would make it easier and faster for you to get through your routine? Then implement those changes.

#4. Consider a Cleansing Water

Washing your face is a key step in your skincare routine. Avoid it, and you could be leaving dirt, sweat, and grime on your skin that will get into your pores and cause problems later on.

If you’re struggling to find time to wash your face in the morning, consider micellar cleansing water. Formulated to be rinse-free, these products make cleansing a breeze.

Simply wipe down your face with a soaked cotton pad to lift away traces of dirt, dead skin cells, and sebum. Then you can spritz on your toner, apply your moisturizer, and go.

Always cleanse your face thoroughly with a true cleanser at night, and perhaps a skin brush. (It helps get deeper into your pores to leave skin feeling even cleaner.) But for a quick morning clean, micellar water can work on occasion.

Skincare Routine for Busy Moms #5. Use a Self-Tanner

Nothing is quite so flattering as soft, tanned skin. We all know, however, that real tans aren’t good for the skin. We also know that applying bronzer every morning takes time.

Fix both of these problems by using a self-tanner every few days. Apply it where you need it for that healthy glow, then ditch the bronzer. If you use some on your face, you may also find that you can use less makeup and still feel pretty.

This quick and easy hairstyle is flirty and takes just minutes to style. Pull hair into a high ponytail at the crown and secure with a hair tie. Note: using a thicker hair tie will give the ponytail more volume. Or you can fake it by inserting to bobby pins into the hair tie at the base of the ponytail.

Faux Chignon with Headband

This easy chignon updo only looks difficult. Place a stretchy headband on top of your hair, circling the crown. Pin into place at the nape of the neck. Next, wrap sections of hair around the headband, tucking in the loose strands. Add a couple pins for extra hold, and that’s it! We found this one-minute how-to video.

The best part is, when you take out this simple hairstyle, you’ll have subtly gorgeous waves.

4 Ways to Speed Up Your Morning Routine

1. Prep at Night

To save time in the morning, try doing some of your morning routine before bed. If you usually shower in the morning, try showering at night. If you have long hair, braid it before bed to keep it from tangling while you sleep. That way, you won’t have to spend precious minutes working out knots in the morning.

2. Invest in Your Hair
